Marcus arcus Hunter, longtime veteran CIA C-4 operative, finds himself torn between depressing ambivalence and utter futility concerning his job and life. Everything quickly changes, however, when he is shot in a failed 'sting' operation in Sarajevo and pronounced dead. An hour later he is discovered, alive and well muttering incoherently, "They said... it isn't time yet."
Following his return to a Washington DC hospital in hopes of understanding the mystery of his astounding recovery, the sudden and unexpected discovery of the ominous Orion File accelerates life at the CIA in a frantic and frightening direction. Marcus quickly finds himself instrumental in uncovering the fact that the plans outlined in the file, promises to launch America on an irrevocable course to Armageddon.
Now finding himself the focus of the dangerous and powerful people behind the nefarious plot, he is forced to escape, soon finding himself in India, where he once again survives certain death, yet awakens to a world of darkness and uncertainty, with no memory of any past reality.
Lost and alone, he is at last guided by the strange Dr. Pratab Singh, to an ancient monastery high in the mountains bordering India and Tibet. There, to his amazement, he encounters three like-minded friends who have risked their lives pursuing him from DC. Together, in their frantic search for answers and the growing threat of certain death from CIA and military pursuers, they soon find themselves guided by a strange Alien force to a frightening realization, for which none of them are prepared
